On Fucktards

I totally just almost died. Some idiot thought it was not a terrible idea to back his black pickup into a lane of oncoming traffic on I-25. In the dark.

In any case, thanks to vigilance and an awesome traction control system on my car, everything came out unscathed. I just wish I knew what that guy was thinking. Or not thinking, as the case may be.

Interestingly, it didn’t really shake me up too terribly much. I went on my merry way, played some softball, drove home. It did get me thinking a little bit, however, about the sheer volume of stupid people that are out there. And when you give these nincompoops large vehicles and guns and all manner of dangerous stuff, it is just a fact of life that every once in a while one of them will try to kill you. Not because they hate you or anything; they just don’t know any better. Because they are fucking doorknob retarded.

So I guess my advice is, just be on the lookout. A few times in your life, someone will try to kill you. Just try to avoid these situations as much as possible, and in situations you can’t avoid, just be aware of who the stupid people are, and if they start acting like it, leave yourself an out. That’s all I’m saying.

All right so it’s been a while since I posted about work, so here goes. We are well into month 2 of 3 of our project here, and right now I’m narrowing in on booking The Big Date. I will give more details about The Big Date when it nears, but suffice it to say, it will be big.

I’ve got 3 more-or-less finished scores (need cleaning), and I’d like to get a couple more done before I go back to work on Nov. 3. That’s right, I’ve decided to try to juggle the last month of the project with work, like Alli has been doing the whole time, to have some extra spending munnies. It will NOT be fun, but I think it is doable so I’m gonna give it a shot. Hopefully the quality of my application won’t suffer too much.

That pretty much brings us up to date. There lots of stuff left to do, but we’re a few days away from the halfway point and I feel like I’ve gotten a lot accomplished already, not to mention the fact that I haven’t been too terribly focused, so if I get my focus on, I should be able to get everything done, no prob.

Oh and last but not least, a plug for Albert Cook’s pilot for his animated show Lords of Pain, which he just released to the public. He had me write some music for it, so go check it out if you get a chance and let me know what you think:

Watch the Lords of Pain pilot

  1. Stupid people are awful. Stupid people with cars are even worse. Driving in Cali is going to give me an ulcer I think. I’m glad that you are all right, and that things are progressing with The Big Date – can’t wait to hear what it is! Though I have some guesses (probably wrong) 😛

    • Oh, and my brother and I watched the LoP pilot. Not bad! I reeeeally liked the music though. It served the piece very well.
