This week was a bit hectic. My lack of sleep started to catch up with me, and I wasn’t feeling well for a few days. But I drank lots of water and caught a couple extra hours of sleep so – crisis averted!
So quick before class, here’s what I’ve gotten accomplished of late:
Regarding graduate school: I wrote a VERY rough draft of my personal statement. I made my little graduate school chart which is good, even if it did cause some mad anxiety. My bro’s girlfriend put me in touch with the man who used to run a program I really want to go to and is starting a new program somewhere else. He said I should feel free to call him and ask him some questions and whatnot, so I’m going to do that today. I’ve hit up 3 of my four referees and all responded with a resounding, “YES, I will write you a letter” which is great. I think number 4 might turn me down, but if he does I’ll still have the other three. So, it won’t be the worst thing.
For my submissions, which are due like, right now (okay, the 15th but I was shooting for the soft deadline of the 1st. Must get them in by the end of the week!) I edited TW and a couple of poems I’m going to submit. Why the hell not, I suppose.
I also got a rough draft on paper for RC and need to type that up, as well as my rough draft of my personal statement. Those two things along with the submissions are my biggest concerns. I’m also a little stressed about this flash fiction piece I have due in a couple of weeks because flash just isn’t my thing…then again neither was poetry and I seemed to do all right with that. I just need a beautiful idea to visit me in my sleep and then I’ll be golden.
All right, I’m off to class!
